Game-Changing Insights: Telling Winning Stories Through Sports Data

Dive into the world of sports analytics with our Game-Changing Insights program, where students harness professional basketball statistics to uncover performance trends and craft compelling stories. From calculating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like shooting accuracy and player efficiency to creating polished data visualizations, students gain hands-on experience in using data to make impactful recommendations.

Program Highlights:

  • Role-Playing Real Scenarios: Students take on roles such as Data Analyst, Visual Designer, and Presenter to simulate professional sports analytics teams.

  • Skill Development: Learn data analysis, visualization, and storytelling while honing workforce-ready skills like collaboration, problem-solving, and communication.

  • Real-World Challenges: Answer critical questions like, “Why does shooting accuracy drop in the fourth quarter?” or “Who should take the final shot based on performance data?”

  • Final Deliverable: Teams present their findings through infographics and live presentations, pitching to a simulated coaching staff or team executives.
